spirit journey with my wife and ancestors

at first I was only scraping the surface of what SD has to offer. communing with the plant these past 2 years, I've had many deep and profound experiences.

I've smoked the plant as well as taken it orally. I practice witchcraft and this plant is a wake up call. SD has brought me to a closer connection to nature and has given me a better understanding of conciousness. SD is very useful for healing in various ways and is a great tool for connecting to spiritual guidance.

my first few experiences were about healing on an emotional level as well as understanding energy-work on various levels; being in touch with elemental energies as well as deities. SD is has helped me to grow and move through phases of transformation in a positive way. while being in an SD state of mind I have found an immense amount of creativity, expressed through guitar playing/ song writing, poetry, and visual art such as drawing and painting.

I have had encounters of becoming a plant and living through the seasons, healing myself with energy and ritual to overcome illness and sickness, traveling out of body, living other lives, reaching out to myself in different time periods as well as this life, and the experience I will share; a spirit journey with another person and having the same experience together.

***My wife and I were in the bedroom. I started off blessing the leaves and asking my spirit guides for protection and help; that I would be able to guide her throughout the journey. I had some navajo music playing and had not heard this album yet. we lay together with our eyes closed in the darkened room and the rehydrated leaves being chewed for around 30 minutes. we let the entire album play through and afterwards described to each other the journey we had just had.

*I found myself in the forest with my ancestors. I started out on my own to hunt with my bow. shortly after i was accompanied by a black panther. we moved through the open woodland hunting together until we came out to a field of yellow grass along side a calm river. the panther moved ahead to the river, lay down, and transformed into human form. the panther was my wife.

suddenly I was startled because I heard something rush through the bushes at the edge of the grass. I became aware of my body as we both twitched so I asked aloud if she was okay and she replied that she was, she just heard something.

I then asked if she wanted to take a path that i saw to meet the god and goddess. she stated that she was not ready so we steadied our concentration and started back where we left off. we crossed a narrow part of the river and started climbing a small cliff. when I approached the top she was not with me and remembered I noticed a cave about half way up. I came to the conclusion that she must have went inside the cave.

I looked out across the river and a short distance down I could see the tribe gathering wood and placing it in the fire pits.

I transformed into an eagle and flew across to be with them. when i landed I transformed back into a human and began to start the fire at the 3 pits. once lit i began to lead the tribe in dance around the fires until the music came to a stop.

Afterwards I talked to my wife and asked her about her journey which i will describe below.

* she started out in a tepee and decided to sneak out of the camp. she kneeled down and transformed into a black panther. shortly after she found me with a bow wearing a loincloth but had a different face.

she moved through the forest with me until she came to a meadow and went to the rivers edge to get a drink. she then laid out and assumed human form when abruptly she heard the bushes move and saw a rabbit.

(thats when we talked aloud to each other)

she started following me across the river to the embankment where she could see a bear far off down the river. we started climbing the cliffside until she came across a cave. she knew it was where the bear lived, but since she saw it previously she knew it would safe to take the passage that led out to the top of the bluff. when she made it to the top she could see the sun was going down and was glad she made it out before the it became dark inside the cave and would not be able to follow the light coming through the exit.


she looked out across the river and could see the tree tops and the tribe dancing around the fires. she didn't want dance the way we did so danced in her own way on the cliff top until the album ended.

we both had the same journey as each other with out communicating except once.

I'm not sure what she learned from the experience, but i came out with a deep sense of peace and learned to embrace my role of leadership at work as well as with my friends, family, and peers.

If you are someone who is planning on experiencing this plant, please be responsible, safe, and do not treat it as a party drug like cannabis sativa, or alcohol. do not ruin it for those of us who hold this plant in high regard.

If abused the plant can become illegal in areas where it is not treated as a scheduled substance. keep in mind it's medicinal, religious, spiritual (including the exploration of consciousness), and therapeutic benefits.

research it a great deal and treat it with respect for it is a great gift from our mother earth.
