Salvia Leaves: Reaching Breakthrough Effects
How to reach amazing effects by smoking Salvia leaves
Don't be fooled... You don't necessarily have to smoke a Salvia extract to reach satisfactory effects: smoking plain Salvia Divinorum leaves can be extremely gratifying, as long as it is smoked correctly. Some advantages of smoking from the Salvia leaf: - Gives an intense, more controllable trip. - You can keep "adding on" intensity until you reach the desired effects. - Way cheaper than an extract: you can get several grams of Salvia Divinorum leaves for a few dollars. - By smoking the leaves you can *taste* Salvia Divinorum in it's natural form. This may not be an advantage per se, but by tasting the leaf maybe you'll feel a closer relation to the Salvia plant. - When smoking Salvia Divinorum leaves with weed, the effects are totally different from those of a strong extract, and seem to last A LOT longer. So smoking Salvia from its plain leaf can provide effects just as good as any Salvia extract... it's a different effect, no doubt, but pretty enjoyable too. As Salvinorin-A burns at high temperatures, a great portion of the psychoactive effects on the Salvia leaves are generally wasted, as they are not ignited correctly.
Igniting the Salvia Leaves
To smoke the leaves, get a bong with plenty of room and load it with 3 or 4 big, crushed leaves (an old-fashioned wooden pipe can work to a lesser degree). It is necessary to use a butane lighter (as explained in "How to smoke Salvia Divinorum"). If this is not possible, try to use a couple big-flamed lighters. By mixing Salvia with weed, you can considerably extend the trip and give a more bodily feeling to it. You'll start feeling the effects after two deep hits, but you may want to try a couple more (I find that as soon as the Salvia effects hit me, I can hold my breath a lot longer) Remember to lay down in a comfortable, quiet place and close your eyes... submerge yourself into The Salvia Dream.
