Max's Salvia Experience: The Face Of The Moon

Max's Salvia experience

Trip duration: 10 minutes

Dose: 2 grams of Salvia and some pot

Intensity: 8

Location: Outside

Highlights of the Salvia experience:

I had heard about Salvia divinorum from a couple friends who had tried it in their basement. I became very interested in it after reading more about it on the web. So a friend, I’ll call him Bob and I ordered 4 ounces of handpicked leaves from a farm in Mexico off the internet.

After they arrived we waited for the perfect time to try this amazing plant. I had gotten a ride over to his house and his parents had gone out of state the previous day. We decided that the time to do it would be at night sitting under the stars and the breeze blowing lightly on us.

So when the moon came out we packed a very large bong full full of leaves and a layer of pot on the bottom and proceeded outside. I had brought a torch along because i had read Salvia needed a very hot temperature to activate the Salvorin A.

We each sat in a beanie bag chair we had brought out to the lawn for comfort. I let Bob light up the bowl first because he had provided the setting. After 3 huge hits he passed the bong over to me. I packed it full again, lit it up and drew the flame over the leaves. The smoke was surprisingly smoother than what I expected, and I continually inhaled until I released the carb hole and flooded my lungs with smoke. I counted to thirty and slowly exhaled. The second time I felt nothing other than the bubbling of the bong was very hypnotic. Finally, i took the largest hit of the session. The smoke seemed to be trying to escape the dungeon of my lungs and I was struggling to hold it in. I had set the bong down and I was glad, because the salvia hit me like a brick wall.

I started laughing uncontrollably and fell out of the beanie chair. After at least 2 minutes of laughing I composed myself enough to pull myself back into the comforting arms of the chair. I closed my eyes and fractals were jumping around in my head. There were so many colors and geometric patterns it was amazing. I had tried shrooms twice but it didn't even compare to what I was experiencing. I opened my eyes about a minute later and the landscape was accelerating into a vortex. I just sat and watched as reality left my mind. We were sitting under a tree and the branches slowly started reaching for me and I stood up. I started walking backward looking at the trees and started running.

I tripped over a root of the tree, as I was falling, time slowed to a creep and I could look at myself doing a summersault in the air. Time returned to normal and I stood back up. I walked back to the chair and sat back down. I could see the moon in the corner of my eye because it was almost full. It seemed to have a face. I would look away and feel it was staring at me. Finally, l looked back and it was a giant face with an expression of a grin. I looked away and the face was gone.

Evidently Bob was not as effected as i was because he was just sitting there waiting for me to return to baseline. After 5 minutes of sitting the effects finally wore off.

2nd Attempt: Bob was at my house the next day and we decided to try a Salvia experience in the evening under the sunset. I loaded up a very large bong with pot and we went up to an abandoned chicken house which was used for my family to store cars and random objects. It was paved on the inside but we decided to smoke it outside so the smoke would not make the chicken house reek. I sat down on the grass with bob and I lit the bong up. I was using a different bong with a larger chamber and it seemed like eternity until I filled it with smoke. I removed my finger from the carb hole and held the smoke in for as long as I could.

I took another huge hit and remembered to go get a bag for an experiment. I went and got an empty potato chip bag and set it down beside me and released the smoke from my lungs. As I took the last hit I could feel the Salvia creeping up on me again. I held the smoke in for as long as I could and picked up the bag. After I reached my breaking point, I exhaled into the bag and inhaled as if I was hyperventilating. I repeated this until I broke out in uncontrollable laughter once again. I stood up after I managed to restrain the laughter and walked around to the door of the chicken house... my Salvia experience reached it's max...

For some odd reason the words “I like to movit movit” were stuck in my head. I looked down at my hands and they were melting into the silver and gray sweatshirt I was wearing. I suddenly became a robot with metal legs and arms. I kept repeating “I like to movit movit” in a robot voice, and replacing “movit movit” with what I was doing. I was walking around and I could hear myself thinking but could not control my body. I had just gotten a new cell phone and it was in my front pocket. I kept telling myself not to hurt the phone and without realizing I had placed it on a table next to me and had roboted away. Several minutes later I could not figure out where my phone was. There was a machete stuck in a piece of wood beside me and I decided to start playing with it. I told myself not to do it because I was going to hurt myself but my body resisted. I had extreme coordination while playing with the machete, which was very odd because my last Salvia experience I had become uncoordinated. There was a pile of straw in the middle of the floor and I decided to lay on it.

As I let myself sit down, I became part of the pile. I could not move or breath, I was an inanimate object. I stayed as the pile for at least 2 minutes until the Salvia was no longer in my system. As I returned to reality, Bob was standing over me, he said I had slept on the pile of straw for 20 minutes. I got up and we walked back down to the house. All in all, both were an amazing Salvia experience.

Conclusion: the Salvia experience is a very powerful hallucinogen and should not be used for recreational purposes, but as an insight into consciousness.
