A Salvia - Fairy - Tale

A SALVIA - FAIRY TALE

I don’t know why I know this story… I don’t know how, but something, somewhere at some distance is always waiting to share its secrets, you just have to listen close.

So it goes that as fairies gazed the earth, the life was as good as it gets: the bees and the bears, the dumb and the other few, the crazy and sane were happily together and their sons and their daughters, and the bears and the bees, the mice and the cows, as crazy and sane and as the rich and the poor. Can you imagine so many beautiful creatures just loving the earth?

But it was too good to last long: /the action – the reaction / the good – the evil / the happy – the sad/ …and on and on, the extremes came to be, and as extremes came to be, the lonely and the rich, the poor and the satisfied, the cats and the dogs and the dead and the alive were dragged to the earth by these extremes just as the bird learned to fly, the roses to flourish, and the human first felt love.

With these also came the bites of the snakes, the cold of the ice and the hate of the difference, and as humans slowly got on their feet, the fairies felt fear…

Some of them died, as fairies don’t respond well to extremes, the good versus the evil fashion came up and most of them were extinct. .. Only three survived, and from those three, only one can be found around this place: the most noble and wise of them all decided to hide herself from the dangers that kept threatening her beauty and wisdom.

She found a little, plain, dying weed and decided to set there, at least for a few centuries. The transition from being everywhere and flying freely around the trees and the bugs to becoming an inert being that needed to slowly be fed and caressed was the worst feeling that a fairy has ever felt, but as time kept moving she slowly learned to open up: the leaves became roomier for her and the experience proved worth-while. Eventually, she was able to stick out her beautiful purple/white head for a few days, feeding of all the oxygen, the love, the light and the living wisdom that she was used to breathing in the old days.

Nowadays, she lives happily at the sierra, and likes to visit people and animals, the seas and the grounds, and as a gift and a present for the shelter and care, sometimes she lets a few humans take a peek at her life.
