Amazing Salvia Divinorum experience & Lucid Dream

Tobias' Salvia Divinorum experience

Trip duration: Unsure

Dose: 2 Pinches of 10x, used as Dip

Intensity: 8

Location: my bed

Highlights:

So a year ago I joined the Army(ROTC) so that they would pay school and the such, and thought that this decision would have to end my marijuana usage. Ironically I've tried LSD since then and still smoked a couple times a week, which is a bit more than I used to. However, I was really excited when I heard about salvia because this seemed like a legal way to get high.

I am more concerned with prolonging the experience so I could chill with friends who smoke weed and experience something similar. However, at the moment I’m unsure if that is possible.

My experiences have been completely different than a weed-high, obviously. Skip to TRIP 2 if you want to hear about my trip using salvia as dip.

TRIP 1: I smoked using a REALLY ghetto pipe made out of aluminum foil. We fail as potheads. There were 7 of us total, and 2 had never smoked more than a cigarette. I took the first hit, being the most experienced in our group with mind-altering substances.

I was totally unprepared, however. We had an a cappella group on the tv singing the theme to Mario bros. I held in the smoke for about 20 seconds and let it out. At first, nothing. Then I felt cold at my fingertips, which moved up my arms and eventually engulfed my head. Sort of like the Matrix, after he takes the pill and touches the mirror. It then hit me like a ton of bricks.

I saw my friends all looking at me, some asking questions I couldn’t understand. I didn’t like all the attention so I looked at the floor. My left leg was normal-looking, but my right leg suddenly got 2D, and then seemed like it became a wall in my vision. That was confusing, since that made it relatively vertical. I then had the strangest desire to eat the wall… Ignoring that, I felt extremely uncomfortable and didn’t want to look up at my friends. I started coming down at this point and finally was back to normal but sweating quite a bit more than I should in a 70 degree atmosphere. Overall, I did not really like my experience. It lasted about 5 min. But I was determined to make this work the way I wanted.

TRIP 2: The next day, as I was going to bed, I thought that I would try using the salvia as one would use dip(although I’ve never used tobacco dip, myself). I took 2 pinches and put it under my bottom lip, which I found stayed there very securely. I could barely taste it since it didn’t touch my tongue. I hopped in bed and only had a light blanket on top of me due to the summer heat upstairs. I felt no effects before falling asleep. Then… I was in a well-lit cave walking with someone I knew, although I cannot remember her face. It was definitely a female.

The cave had an enormous amount of plant life growing on all sides. Everything grew very fast, for plants. It was fast enough to watch new stems sprout and flowers bloom, but slow enough that you could observe it easily. It produced a nice effect, as the room was completely different after every 5 minutes or so. New plants grew, died, and grew into another. I just walked around looking at one plant and then another. It was all very vibrant and intriguing. I could be entertained there for hours. It felt like I was there for about an hour or so, maybe a little less. At some points I woke up, realized I had been dreaming, then fell back into the same dream. I could control my movement for the most part. Unfortunately the idea of flying did not occur this time. I woke up what seemed like a couple hours later with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I removed the salvia from my lip(the trip had obviously been over for a while, judging by how I felt). I ate some goldfish and downed some Gatorade(which I had next to my bed) to get rid of the taste and went easily back to sleep.

The next morning I felt very well rested and actually got up a little earlier than usual. I haven’t read too much about lucid dreams but my experience seems very close to what I’ve heard. I could control my movement and was very aware that I was dreaming(after waking up briefly for the first time). I’ll be trying it again tonight.
