Real de 14 - Peyote Journeying

my 5 beautiful, bitter-as-nothing-else peyote buttons

I took this trip exactly a week ago: my best friend, his gf, my gf and I went to the desert in Real de 14 (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) to look for Peyote.

Real de 14 is where they filmed "the mexican" movie, kick ass town, by the way... You can see the dose I was expecting to eat, we camped in the town, the only part where they'll let you camp...

Halfway through the trip, and with my last half-eaten peyote button in my pants pocket, 2 policemen come out of nowhere, with a lantern, looking for "drugs and arms"... my friend was in the middle of a conversation with a tree, and I was helping my girlfriend throw up, when they started to feel us, looking for anything suspicious...

They made us take out everything in our pockets (i took out my cell phone, cigarettes and wallet... somehow I felt quite confident that everything would be all right... leaving the peyote button in my pocket..

The policemen then felt my friend's body and mine, and when he put his hand on my pocket, touching the wet peyote, I couldn't help but smile discreetly, HE DIDN'T NOTICE!!!!

All of us kept our cool all the time, we went from talking with a tree (my friend), watching spiders inviting us to join them (my girlfriend) and moving around oh so freely with the energy opened up (me) 5 minutes before, to sitting around the campfire with 2 policeguys in need for love... we offered them marshmallows and cookies, thanked them for being around to protect us and making sure everything was alright

All of these in-between their comments of all the "druggies" that come to Real to get high on Peyote, and how they take people to jail even for having as little as 2 peyote buttons....


So evenually (20 or 30 minutes that looked like a couple of days!) they left, we made sure they were reeeeally out out there before having the deepest sigh of relief in our lives.... Still, the peace I felt throughout the experience was divine... there was definitely something else taking care of this worldly matters while we were in communion with the divine energy that is all
