Psilocybin Mushrooms
_____________________
Intergalactic Wisdom Growing on Cow's Dung

What do Maria Sabina, John Lennon, Christianity, Terence McKenna, Edward Sharpe and the ultra-rapid evolution of the human Neo-Cortex all have in common?

Well, I don't really know, but if I had to guess I would say that the Magic Mushroom, the psilocybin mushroom, links them all in being a factor on each and all's peculiar contribiution to human consiousness.

The Wise Mushroom:

... the one that grows in cow's dung when the rain comes ... the one that stains blue when touched ... the one we see in paintings, sculptures and writings of all the ancient peoples

... The mushroom that came from outta space, millions of light-years away/ago, waiting for a sufficiently developed being to be able to partake of it's wisdom, or so Terence says, ... the one that talks to me, as a guide... The one that told me its name when I asked

Teonanacatl - the Aztecs called it - the flesh of the gods, the one that heals.

Maria Sabina, the loved Mazatec indian who later in life regretted that "now the mushroom speaks english", used to say about the "Niños Sagrados (the Sacred Children)":

"the more you penetrate the Teonanácatl world, the more things you see and you see our past and our future as one sole thing that is already done, that already happened <...> I see stolen horses and buried cities, of which existance is unknown and are just about to come out to the light- I see and know a million things. I know and see God: an immense clock that palpitates, spheres that spin around and in the stars, the earth, the whole universe, the day and the night, the cry and the smile, the joy and pain. Those who really know teonanácatl's secret can see that infinite clock machinery."

(translated from spanish from "plants of the gods, by Hofman & Shultes")
