The Grandiose Best Entheogens

I know, I know... there is no such thing as a "Best Entheogens" list,"each magical plant that Gaia -mother Earth- has gifted us with has it's own divine and special purpose, and when it comes to Entheogens, the benefits, revelations and relationships we develop with each plant's spirit is unique and special and each one helps us in different way" Still, there are those, the ones that have proven it's worth by having a relationship with humans that dates before the era of industrialization, civilization and some maybe even language. Consciousness-technologies that time and time again bring teachings, challenges and blessings to those who interact with them, and hence, here I present the list of my life saviors:
 Ayahuasca / DMT - The mother of all entheogens and the one whose discovery -as the Ayahuasca brew needs to have at least 2 ingredients - is the most puzzling. We include her main active component, dmt. We segregate dmt when we're born, when we die, when we dream and carry it always with us in diminute quantities... we produce it! - To increase the levels of DMT in the brain via the ingestion of a DMT containing plant, plus an enzime-inhibiting plant, which allows the DMT to get to the brain instead of being metabolized in the stomach - well - provokes an experience of birth, death and everything in-between.
 Salvia Divinorum / Salvinorin A -The newest, weirdest and shortest-lived type of entheogenic experience... Definitely the best entheogens of choice to wake-up to new realities and explore new dimensions. If used correctly, contact with truly felt presences is bound to happen.
 Peyote + San Pedro / Mescaline - Although illegal, Peyote offers no risk to those who seek to learn from it, and approach it with humbleness. "El abuelito fuego", the grandpa, the fire, as called by the Huicholes, Peyote has given strenght in spirit and mind to men and women for more than 5,000 years. Its legal close cousin, the San Pedro cactus, is by itself another grandiose teacher, also containing mescaline --- although both provide a similar entheogenic experience - due to the mescaline - the difference in many other alkaloids from both cactae make each a distincively unique mescalinic experience.
 Magic Mushrooms / Psilocybin -Sadly, but preposterously indeed - shrooms too are illegal - eventhough they grow everywhere when it rains and the weather is hot... an adequate assesment of time and place along with a basic education on what one or two kinds of mushroom will you look for, and what thousands of others you won't, almost guarantees the presence of psilocybin on the ground (provided that you were careful enough to find a place replete with cow's dung) - Los niños santos, The saint children - as María Sabina called them; but beware! just because they are saints, doesn't mean they're not still children!
