This is about the second time I had smoked salvia. I had bought a small vial of x60 strawberry-flavored salvia, and I was incredibly eager to try it out. I researched it to see what precautions I would need to take when trying it my first time, and found that I should never do it alone. So, I decided because it was my first time, I took enough salvia for about 1/2 of a regular hit. I smoked it, and held it in. I noticed that it gave you a tingling sensation similar to weed, but you had mild and colorful hallucinations. So the next day I told my friends about how cool it was and how it was "intense". I went to my friend Jeremy's house later that day to do more because I still had an almost entirely full vial left. So I go over to his house, his parents are gone, and our friend Ian, who happens to be 100% against drugs, is there and agrees to watch over us as we trip. So we make this shitty, tin-foil pipe because my pipe was at my house. We loaded 1/2 the vial salvia and we all agreed that I should be the first one to take a hit. At this point I was thinking that I knew what was gonna happen next. I couldn't be more wrong. I took a hit and instantly noticed that it is one of the most bitter, harsh and fastest burning substances I have ever smoked. Which made me cough it all out. So I had to take another hit because I didn't hold in my last one. I took the second hit, barely held it in for about 15 seconds and then I started to feel it. At first, it was a moderate state of confusion. I looked at my friends and asked who they were, they laughed a little, and then the next effect hit me, dizziness. I fell on the floor, and blasted off into another dimension. Words cannot describe how intense it was. My vision turned into a kaleidoscopic patterns and I couldn't remember who or where I was. I heard an unfamiliar voice order me to climb a ladder. So, I climbed a delusional ladder, when in reality I was just rolling on the floor. In the background, as I climbed the ladder I could hear techno music and someone narrating me in Japanese. I could see myself in third person as an old-school videogame character made of simple colors and pixels. I noticed that every five rungs I climbed, there would be a bear head growling at me on either side of that rung. I noticed that the species of bear was always different and they got larger as I went up (i.e. Black bear, then brown, then grizzly, then polar). And at the last 25-20 rungs, the ladder burst out confetti, which morphed to form a background of pepperoni pizzas. The Japanese man began talking in English about pizza, and then I could see the final bear at the top, a panda, and above him where the ladder ended, I saw a slice of pizza made of gold. Right as I reached it, it shot out blinding rays of light and I was returned back to reality. I was still tripping intensely, but at least now I could see real things. Just to give you an idea of how intense salvia is, on a scale from 1-10, ten being the most crazy and uncontrollable, trippy and intensely religious moment you've ever experienced, I would rate salvia a 10, and being really drunk and the highest I've ever been at the same time a 1.5. I shortly after created my own religion.
